How to dress for a beach wedding

A beach wedding is in most cases less formal than the average wedding party. This doesn't mean that you can show up underdressed in your average everyday beach dress. So, what are the things we should keep in mind when we choose an appropriate dress for a beach wedding? Apply these tips and you will look incredible on your upcoming beach wedding!

  • The best party attire for a beach wedding is a cocktail dress or a maxi dress, which is extra elegant for evening ceremonies. The dress can be in almost any color. Bright summer colors can look amazing but soft pastel colors can also look very elegant. Avoid wearing all white or all black, these colors are seen as inappropriate for a wedding. Beach weddings are perfect events for soft and light fabrics like chiffon. For a more formal beach wedding you can choose for shinier fabrics like silk and satin. Wear a dress that flatters your body shape. • As stylish as they may look on the street, you will regret it if you wear your stilettos to a beach wedding! There are so many cute alternatives! Go for stylish embellished sandals or flip flops, or wear hot (metallic) wedges that are not too small. Leave your rubber flip flops at home, we don't want to see them at a beach wedding.
  • Instead of a large bag bring a classy small evening bag. Also take a wrap or a wrap alternative to put around your shoulders in case it gets chilly. make sure they both match with the color of your gown.
  • For your natural and beautiful beach wedding look, keep your accessories simple and elegant. Some not too big (real looking) earrings with diamonds or pearls possibly combined with a bracelet can be a gorgeous option.
  • Put some effort in your hair and makeup. Going to a professional for the perfect soft beachy updo might be an option. For a beach wedding ceremony a more natural (and waterproof) makeup look is the most suitable.
  • Don't forget to pun on some sun block.
